Hi , today you are going to learn about Colab. Did you know that we have lots of stuff to do like our fastrack? It’s a site on classroom where  you put your learning links which are green, orange, or red. Green means you have finished, orange means you have started or are halfway and red means you don't know how to start or it means you need help to plan.

Did you know that in Colab we have to use a device  or you have to bring your own? BYOD, that stands for bring your own device. As well that we have 90 kids. It's hard to get a good a device since we have 90 children.

We have 4 spaces One is HQ, the other is the Workshop, another is  Ilab and lucky last is the Key. HQ is the loud room, the Workshop is the quiet room, Ilab is quiet and the Key is kind of loud and kind of quiet.

When you bring your BYOD it has to be Apple or Chromebook.

You get to sit wherever you want like on a bean bag or a couch. It's your choice.

Since we have lots of children we split into roll groups. K1 is a to h for last names and k2 is i to z for last names as well.

My advice is be confident and be sensible.

I hope you are going to have a good year and make new friends.

Hey You! In the holidays I went to Turkish Delight and I ordered a burger. I ate it in little bites in 5 minutes. I ate some fries and after I washed my hands and face. I loved it.

After that I went to Kathmandu and looked at the tents. There were two of them. One was small and the other one was bigger. There was furniture inside the tent like mini comfortable mattresses.

After we left we got ice cream from Mcdonald’s. Then we went home. I loved it. I hope I can go camping in a tent one day.

Before you came I was a bit nervous about riding bikes but you were a marvellous teacher.

The most fascinating thing I learnt was using my arms as signals.

I now feel more confident when I ride my bike and I am eager to ride on the road again.

The Pigeon is Innocent

Hey you, Walter! The pigeon is innocent, what were you thinking?

Firstly, the pigeon just wanted the bagel because he was famished.

Secondly, you were careless. You left your super important suitcase lying around.

Lastly, you are insane! It's only an animal. You only cared about your suitcase and not the pigeon.

I think that the pigeon didn't  deserve to get injured.

This year in Term 2 we have been doing target challenges. My favourite target challenge was the breakout. It was a game in the Workshop (Room 17) where we found keys and opened locked chests. In the chests there were clues inside. We had to find all the clues to get out of the room.

I also liked the creativity with the paper clip challenge. What you had to do was make a creation out of paper clips.

I also liked an activity where you had to fill in the blank words. The aim was to try and guess the blank words and write it down on the paper, but my pen did not work on the coloured paper! It only worked on the white paper. I enjoyed my time. I loved doing these activities.

The tyre challenge

"Oh no this looks tricky!" I climbed up onto the tyre, grabbed the rope, and swung over the muddy pit.  I was nervous because I was low to the ground and I thought I would fall off.  My knees got dirty so I had to go to the start. I tried again. Before I  did it I put my hands higher and I swung over. I was about to fall off but I held it tightly. I let go, landed on the tyre on my knees and got up to help the other people. I was proud of myself and also proud of my team mates.

My Day at Himatangi Beach

In the weekend I went to Himatangi Beach with my aunty, my mum and my sister. I was really excited. Finally we were at Himatangi Beach. First, me and my sister walked into the salty water and started to jump over the waves. It was really fun! Then we saw a big hole with salty water inside it.  

We started to play in it for 1 hour. Then, my sister and I had to go and eat. After we ate we went to the park and played for a little, then my mum went to the dairy and bought ice cream. I had chocolate ice cream, my sister had goody goody gum drop ice cream and my mum had passion fruit ice cream. After, we had to go home.
